The indexes finished little-changed last week, but it wasn’t for a lack of movement. A bounce attempt early in the week stalled out as Wednesday and Thursday provided ample downside to erase the gains and then some. Friday’s action was on track for further declines, until a late-day rebound from the lows left the indexes positive on the session. The million-dollar question at this point is whether that points to some short-term exhaustion on the downside, but one thing is for sure…many stocks are deeply oversold.
