Whenever cross currents are at play, the market just tends to behave a little bit differently. Rather odd, in fact.
Sometimes it’s quarterly window-dressing as fund managers do their best to spruce up their portfolios. Sometimes it’s an outside event which can impact the market, like a bailout plan that traders just get fixated on, leaving the market extremely sensitive to news.
